Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need an evaluation?

1

An evaluation may be helpful if you are seeking diagnostic clarification, struggling with attention or learning difficulties, wondering whether autism may be present, seeking educational or workplace accommodations, or looking for a deeper understanding of your strengths and challenges.

What is the first step in the evaluation process?

2

All individuals begin with an intake and clinical interview with Dr. Roxanne Cole. During this appointment, you will discuss your concerns, goals, and referral questions. This helps determine the most appropriate evaluation approach and allows Dr. Cole to recommend testing tailored to your needs.

How long does the evaluation process take?

3

The length of the evaluation varies depending on the referral question, the type of testing required, and the complexity of the concerns being assessed. Most evaluations involve an intake interview, testing appointments, record review, scoring and interpretation, and a feedback session.

What does testing involve?

Testing may include questionnaires, rating scales, cognitive assessments, academic testing, personality measures, symptom inventories, and other standardized psychological tests. The specific measures selected depend on the referral question and individual needs.

Can evaluations be completed virtually?

5

Many evaluations can be conducted through secure telehealth services for individuals located in Florida and PSYPACT participating states. Some evaluations may require in-person testing depending on the referral question and assessment needs.

What is PSYPACT?

PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology services across participating states. If you reside in a PSYPACT participating state, you may be eligible to complete services virtually.

6

Yes. Each evaluation includes a comprehensive written report summarizing the assessment process, test results, diagnostic findings (when applicable), and individualized recommendations.

7

Will I receive a written report?

Will someone explain the results to me?

8

Absolutely. After the evaluation is completed, Dr. Cole will meet with you for a feedback session to review the results, answer questions, discuss recommendations, and ensure you understand the findings.

Can evaluations help with accommodations?

9

Yes. Depending on the results, evaluations may provide documentation and recommendations to support educational accommodations, workplace accommodations, testing accommodations, or other support services when appropriate.

How much does the evaluation cost?

10

The cost of an evaluation depends on the type and complexity of assessment required. After discussing your concerns during the intake and clinical interview, Dr. Cole will recommend the most appropriate evaluation option and review the associated fees. We understand that a psychological evaluation is a significant investment, and we are committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality assessments that offer meaningful insight, clear answers, and practical recommendations tailored to your unique needs. Our goal is to ensure that clients receive valuable information that supports informed decisions and long-term success.

How does scheduling and payment work?

14

To get started, please contact Dr. Roxanne Cole to schedule an intake and clinical interview. All evaluations begin with this appointment, during which concerns, goals, referral questions, and relevant history are reviewed to determine the most appropriate evaluation approach. If a comprehensive evaluation is recommended and you choose to proceed, the cost of the intake appointment will be applied toward the total evaluation fee.

To reserve testing appointments, a signed assessment agreement and retainer are required. The remaining balance is due prior to the feedback session and release of the final written report. Evaluation fees and payment schedules will be reviewed in detail during the intake appointment.

Appointments canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice may be rescheduled without penalty. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments ("no-shows"), will be charged the full intake fee of $200.

A signed assessment agreement and retainer are required to reserve testing appointments. Fees for services already provided, including intake interviews, testing, record review, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and feedback sessions, are generally non-refundable. Any applicable refunds will be determined based on services completed at the time of cancellation.
